Roles: owner, admin and member

Who can do what in your family, and how to change someone's role.

Everyone in the family shares the same calendar and lists, and anyone can edit or delete shared events and list items. Roles only decide who runs the family.

The Owner created the family. There is only one. Only the owner can change roles and hand the family to someone else.

An Admin can remove members, manage children and change the family's settings. Parents are usually admins.

A Member uses everything, but doesn't manage the family. This fits kids and teens with their own phone.

1. On Home, tap Family.
2. Tap ⋮ next to a person and pick Change role… or Remove from family.
3. To hand the family over, tap Transfer ownership under Ownership.

Note: The new owner has to be an admin first. You become an admin after the transfer.
